Have been very busy keeping up with baby, so not much time to scrap. Have tried to get back to traditional paper scrapping for a bit of relaxing fun. It still is great fun, especially doing it with others who share your enthusiasm.
Have been toying with the idea of dropping this "blog" (too embarrassed to call it that, considering I don't really use it much (nor does the interstate family) and there are so many more inspirational crafting blogs out there! I visited one the other day by a 14 YEAR OLD girl called Ruby, she was so clever and full of energy, both in her LOs and her blog. She's been published a fair bit too, which is great, because her work looks so professional. I remember being that young and full of creativity once too - I just can't remember how I ever fitted it all in - and that's without all the extra stuff that teenagers do now - like blogging, facebooking etc. Gosh I sound old! (only 33!) I guess instead of spending all night talking on the phone with girlfriends, they blog now instead. It's great, 'cause you can include photos and create while doing it. Wow. I think she's got such a great future ahead, hope she decides to stick with a creative career. Everything about this LO happened by accident - the fill colour of the cardstock behind was a spasm of the wrist which landed on grey, which turned out to be the exact feel I was going for. I was going to try to put the photo as a background and some snippets of coloured paper in the little squares down the bottom, but the first window came up with the photo behind the boxes, in exactly that position, so I was VERY happy with that. Even the text came up and landed exactly in place. So you could call this one a very welcome accident!
DH has (understandably) been feeling a bit neglect of late, and since we spent all of Saturday rearranging the music and scrapping rooms together again, I felt the guilts about not really scrapping much about him at all. Have been meaning to do a work-themed one for him, with pics of his scores of ties, suits, polished shoes, compendium, shaver and laptop. The journalling would have to include his relentless work ethic, his business culture and strategies etc. so the boys know exactly how savvy he is. But, that would involve a bit more forethought than I can handle in between baby feeds and crying, so this was just a little kooky something to remember him by. Oh, and he took the self-portraits himself on my birthday last month. They were just begging to be used! (Maybe that was all his plan????)

Like I said, Dana's been crying a fair bit lately - has issues driving in the car (carsick?), reflux, LOTs of wind, and generally being separated from me for longer than 5 seconds. So she hangs out a lot in my sling, which makes for a very sore back. Anyhoo, (hate the sound of that word when people say it aloud, and just realised I hate writing it down too. Won't do that again, pardon me.) I was getting her out of the car seat and subconsciously kissed her on the cheek and tasted a salty tear - it was her first. Just knew I had to scrap it. I can still taste it, poor LittleDee.
Had a go scanning in some very old negatives of a holiday sand-duning BC (before children) and they came up very dusty and scratchy, so also learned to spot heal. Very easy and the end result is 100% better than original scan. But the colour correcting wouldn't work for me, so I have to leave it at green sand and fantastically flouro blue sky! The middle one is meant to look like the sand is drifting off the photo and onto the cardstock. Did it work? Dunno. I really craved the heaped-on paint look. But at least I now have some LOs of this!
This was done with one hand, as I was breast feeding at the time. Doesn't really catch my fancy, but I enjoyed just mucking around with some techniques.
This is just using up some photos quickly. Really into pink since Dana was born - I've even started wearing it. Weird.
Very aware right now that DH does a great job playing with the boys and expelling their energy.
I remember seeing in a magazine a photo of a mum's back with two toddlers on her hips. It really took me. Well, I set up the tripod and had a go at photographing Dana on my shoulder, as she is perched up there quite a bit. Took a few goes to actually get within the range, and ended up getting my 5-year-old to take it instead. Got one! Not really fazed with my treatment of it as a LO, so might try scrapping this one again a bit later. At least it tells a story about Dana's unusual neck and back strength at only 6 weeks. My first ever try at girlie glitter/sequins. Might take a while to get out of the "boy zone" mentality I think!

Harvey's been talking a bit about how Great Nana Gert is not coming back, ever. Bit sad, so I decided to make a few LOs from some older photos of them with her.
Been taking way too many photos of Dana. These basket shots are part of a bigger plan to take a photo of her every month inside the basket. As she grows bigger she'll eventually sit beside it, then pick it up. It's just a way to illustrate how much she grows by placing an object beside her to compare it with last months shot. I never expected to get so many good ones in her first ever photo shoot! It was such a cold day too! Have taken the second month now, but they are not so crash hot because they're inside shots. But they'll serve the purpose!
Ok, it IS possible to do a little girl layout without pink! yay!
That's all for digi, and I haven't taken any pics of my traditional layouts, but I'm very happy with them, even tho they're so much slower.
