Tell me these new shoes aren't just soooooo bloody cool!

 

I finally know what all the fuss is about with women and shoes - albeit, with flatties and not stillettoes. Still, I'd rather spend days lost inside a giant stationery warehouse than a Milano factory any day.

It's been 3 years since I last bought a pair of shoes. This is them.

I never really liked them, especially seeing as they were bent on such a curve that they'd go around corners 3 blocks before the rest of me did (!) but they were the only pair of shoes I'd ever bought that were more comfortable on than off. 

I kinda gave up buying shoes because I was never any good at it. I have always been the type to buy one pair of practical winter shoes (usually look like school shoes) that I end up wearing in Summer too. It's only in the past decade or so that I have insisted on trying on the LEFT foot too, because it's one whole size bigger than my right. Which makes for a very hard fit. Thus, my toes are quite knarly from ill-fitting shoes.

But these babies! They make my heart sing when I wear them. They arrived off Ebay yesterday. I still can't stop walking around with my chin to my chest looking at them while I walk. They are even better than I had hoped, considering I am very bad at buying shoes, and these ones I didn't even get to try on first!

 I have gone from feeling (and looking) like Seinfield in his 1980's white shoes and poxy jeans fashion sense, to feeling so totally hip. And me. They even put an extra spring in my step! Even the soles are cool. Look.

So I guess I should mention they are Converse Jack Purcell limited edition shoes and this is not a paid presentation!

And again and again and again!

Who'd have thought hey? I just got another three acceptances for having my artworks published! This is so cool! Now I have to go through all my files and find out the names of each of the materials - that's tedious. But well worth it, I get paid for doing stuff I was going to do anyway! The magazine contracts say the LO's are not to be published anywhere else, so I have to rejig this webspace for a couple of months until after publication. That's where you'll see the same "Out for Publication" picture instead of the real deal. Just for a little while anyway.

I have been a bit of a social butterfly lately and took a great little book I got at Kikki K along to one of my dinner parties. It's a "Five-minute chat" book, in the same vein as a guest book, but much much cooler. It lists several leading questions and inspires the authors to reveal a bit about themselves. The question which illicits the funniest responses is "I shouldn't tell you this, but ...". Very funny answers from the girls! Anyway, I'm thinking this would be a great concept for my Mum's 60th next month. Watch this space.

Ya Hoo!

Published again! Cool. And it's a LO I never even bothered to post here because I thought it was too busy. Isn't it funny how subjective this stuff can be!

Yay! I'm PUBLISHED!

Can you believe it!

It was a 2008 goal to either get a LO published in a magazine, or join an online design team gig. I'm glad the publication happened instead of the latter because I'm just WAY too busy with 3 littlies to contemplate a commitment like that now!

So, woo hoo for me - it's in the encore section of Scrapbooking Memories Volume 10, No.5. Just out in stores. Can't believe I get paid for it either - it's just thrill enough to accomplish one of my goals for the year! Might be time to revisit some of the other goals now ...

Once again, haven't really been scrapping a whole lot, and what I have done is in traditional paper format and I haven't taken any snaps. But I've been doing lots of paper sanding (very theraputic, and you can do little strips in between jobs around the house) and found out I haven't printed out any digital photos since October 2006! Gotta do something about that! Makes it very hard to do paper scrapping without processed photos. But again it reiterates how pleasant it is to do digital scrapping because you don't have to be nearly as organised!

Came across some very old film pictues, one of which I scanned in. Before Babies. It's not finished, as I am going to stick some more word stickers onto the side and finish it off hybridly. The theme is me telling this couple what they are in for during the next 6 years! I love this kind of retrospective LO because it's so interesting to take stock of the bigger picture. If someone had looked into a crystal ball and told me this stuff back then, would I have believed them? I doubt I would have taken it seriously!

And this last one was scraplifted from a LO in the www.designerdigitals.com gallery. Been haunting that spot a lot lately because there are so many talented women out there, with so many inspired themes.
